Be Print Ready
If you are planning to place an order with iUk for either DTF or Sublimation Transfers Prints – The following information will ensure the best results.

DTF Preparation

Sublimation Transfer Printing Preperation

What is DTF

DTF Direct To Film
Firstly the difference between HTV and DTF
Generally HTV is a monocoloured vinyl supplied on a roll (sometimes sheets) The only control over the colour is from the range of vinyl that can be purchased. There can be very subtle colour differences from different “batches” of the same listed colour. HTV has limitations when dealing with fine lines and complex small detail.
HTV is the go to solution for glittered vinyl and other variations
DTF uses a specialist printer to print coloured nano particles of actual vinyl onto a transfers sheet. The colours used are (simplified) CMYK + White. With this arsenal of colour, vibrant, multi coloured transfers can be produced.
Uk’s DTF printer currently does not have the capability to produce a metallic finish

What you need to know for the best results;

Please insure you create your artwork in colour space CMYK – (Artwork produced in RGB will colour shift and dull the image). For reference all our printers are CMYK or CMYK+GGW
The Graphics (below left) were created, using a popular online design package. The project was designed in RGB colour space.
They display vibrant colours especially the blues and greens.
When imported into or printed with a CMYK colour space. The colours loose their vibrance.
The same will happen if you save the design file as a CMYK file.

These are the best formats to send your artwork to iUk.

1) Abdobe illustrator files _.ai
2) Transparent PDF files
3) Vector files – EPS – SVG
4) PNG files at least 300 dpi (any less will show pixilation on the edges)

The finer details

The thinnest free standing line 0.6pt minimum (0.2mm)
If you require your DTF print to have no background, please ensure you supply it with a transparent background (jpeg files do not support transparency). If you leave the background “filled” it will be printed that way.

How to lay out a SupaGang style sheet

In the examples below, I am showing two examples of a SupaGang layout – The Red lines represent the cut lines I would use to separate the individual transfers. The yellowed areas highlight the space I have planned to use to hold the transfer sheet during the peeling process. Note in these examples the transfers are identical. However, they could all be different designs and sizes.
What is crucial is space is required for two reasons. You need to leave a space for cutting the transfers into individual transfers. You need to be able to hold a corner or part of the transfer sheet to be able to peel the transfer sheet away after pressing.

Read through the guide below and click on and download the free template. The sublimation printer’s NO GO area is red so use this template to see if your artwork is the correct size and that it is print ready
Please email your artwork to glen@imuniqueuk.com and or use the messenger service on the shop front. Use any of these image file formats PNG PDF JPEG PSD SVG AI
Do not send your artwork via a word document. Caveat; Abobe illustrator is used for printing and if required your artwork will be resized on its short edge to 210mm, if your artwork is within the print template (red boarder) a good full sublimation transfer print will be produced. If your artwork encroaches into the no print zone, I will contact you to discus options. I will endeavour to fit your artwork as best as possible. If I do not receive a reply I will scale down the artwork to fit.
